"
iProdigy came into existence in the year 2001 - the year of
the apocalyptical recession. Having been with the industry
since 1983 and a witness and party to the IT revolution in
the country, I sensed a need in me to look at this phenomenon
of so-called economic downturn from an outside-in perspective
and go back to the industry with the observations to help
organizations move beyond just knee-jerk reactions and respond
more meaningfully.
With my understanding of the business processes across
functions in IT organizations, I went about investigating
and researching through short and medium term engagements.
It was not long before that I realized that most organizations
were stuck in the straightjacket of economically engineered
business management and were not sensing the obvious organismic
nature of organizations. In their becoming their being was
getting lost. They were so obsessed with the prevailing 'business
habits' of survival (some of which had become unquestionably
frozen as 'mantras' and best practices') that they were missing
out on the understanding of the evolving habitat they existed
in. The disruptive dynamics in the business ecology were being
seen as something disconnected from the organizational realities.
The possibility of the system trying to restore equilibrium
was not being considered. The natural inter-relatedness and
inter-dependence of organizations amongst them and with the
environment was absent.
At this juncture, we realized that it was important for
us - some like minded consultants, institutions and businesses
that share a common vision and a set of espoused values -
to come together and commit ourselves to facilitate organizations
and individuals discover the essence of "living-ness"
in them, make them aware of the environment in which they
thrive and bring to their consciousness unlimited possibilities
of creating a naturally evolving being for themselves."
